8. Offload/Reinstall App. If you continue to experience download issues with the Podcasts app, try offloading and re-installing it. Go to Settings General iPhone Storage Podcasts. Then, tap. By default, Google Podcasts removes downloaded episodes: 24 hours after you finish them. 30 days after you download them. To change these settings: On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Podcasts app. At the bottom, tap Home. At the top right, tap your Profile picture or initial Podcast settings. Same issue with another podcast: "The Classicist with Victor Davis Hanson". It works fine with 'Google Play Music' app but fails with 'Google Podcast' App. Same message: "sorry something went wrong." All episodes work in GPM. Two most recent episodes work in GP (July2, July3). All prior episodes failing in GP.
Tap the Search tool within the Podcast app and enter your podcast. The listing there now includes download links to each podcast episode. Tap the cloud icon next to the desired episode. I found downloading from here will complete. A button will pop up that says Play, but you can now return to My Podcasts and the episode is now downloaded there (the cloud icon is gone). Google Podcasts now supports adding podcasts by RSS feed! Open the app and navigate to Activity, and then to the Subscriptions tab. Select the three dots in the top right corner and then "Add by RSS Feed." Once added, the podcast will appear along with your other subscribed shows, including at the top of the Home tab. The issue appears to be a bug related to the Google app beta program, as users are reporting that exiting the program brings back Google Podcast functionalities.
